Zagreb Sights, Sounds and Hotels

St. Mark's Church, the parish church of Old Zagreb, is thought to have been built as early as the 13th century due to the Romanesque window that was found in the south facade. The church was dramatically reconstructed during the late 14th century and became a three-nave late Gothic church. The Gothic composition of the extremely valuable south portal consists of fifteen statues, believed to be the work of sculptors of the family Parler from Prague, positioned in eleven shallow niches. This portal is the most opulent and valuable Gothic portal in South Eastern Europe because of its artistic composition and the number of sculptures. Also famous for its colourful painted-tiled roof depicting the medieval coats of arms of Croatia, Dalmatia, Slavonia and Zagreb.

Zagreb's St. Mark's Church is a truly colourful and interesting sight to visit whilst exploring Zagreb. The superlative Zagreb Hotels are a home away from home.
