Containing the original eastern gate of the Ungelt, a fortified courtyard previously used for collecting customs, the Metamorphis is an historic townhouse hotel that has been afforded UNESCO protection status. It is located in the heart of Prague's Old Town, within 500 metres of the Old Town Square and Charles Bridge. The individually decorated guestrooms retain original fixtures and historical custom-made furniture, and all include separate sitting areas, minibars, tea and coffee making facilities, air conditioning, direct-dial telephones, satellite television and Internet connections.
Multilingual staff can advise on and book tickets for sightseeing tours of Prague and the surrounding area, and make direct reservations for cultural events. Situated in the centre of the Old Town, the hotel lies within a kilometre of the Old Town Square (with the famous Astronomical Clock and Tyn Church), Charles Bridge, the Municipal House and Wenceslas Square. The Café Restaurant and Club Restaurant are both open daily from 11am to 1am, and the bar is open from 9am. Italian food is served in the Café Restaurant, while the Club Restaurant specialises in Czech and international dishes. The ceiling of this original stone cellar retains the original ornate plasterwork, dating from 1689. Limited parking is available in the courtyard (surcharge). Prague Ruzyne Airport is 20 kilometres away.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS
Registered taxis are available from a stand located in front of
the Arrivals hall, the typical fair to the hotel being 750 CZK
. Minibus stands are also located in front of the Arrivals hall
; a shuttle bus departs every thirty minutes to Dejvická,
the nearest metro station to the airport, located at the end of
line A. From Dejvická metro station, travel to station S
taromestská. The same shuttle bus continues to Namesti Rep
ubliky, a metro station on line B, 300 metres from the hotel. B
us service 119 also runs from the airport to Dejvická; jou
rney time is about 20-30 minutes. Prague's compact historic cen
tre is best explored on foot. Cheap public transportation is av
ailable in the shape of metro, bus, tram or the funicular railw
ay. You can get tickets, directions, schedules and multilingual
public transport system maps at information offices located in
five major metro stations. Tickets can be used interchangeably
on all forms of transport.
Driving directions: From
the airport, head to the Centre. At the Moldau River, turn into
Revoluni St, pass the traffic lights into Dlouhá St and d
rive until the department store Kotva is on your right. Turn ri
ght, as if driving into the parkhouse, but continue round and f
ollow the street to its end. Turn right into Rybná, then p
ull an immediate left into Jakubská St. Ahead, at the end
of the street, drive in through the gate into the Tyn Courtyard
